NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. -- Wilberto Flores, intern volunteer coordinator with the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) (center), his daughter, Miranda (center right), Rear Adm. Paul Sohl, Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) and Assistant Commander Naval Air Systems Command Logistics and Industrial Operations (AIR 6.0) (kneeling), and service members from COMFRC and AIR 6.0, help the homeless by donating socks for Socktober on Oct. 6 at the flag post in the Logistics and Industrial Complex located on Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md.

Socktober, as it’s commonly referred, is a national campaign to raise awareness of homelessness nationwide and to collect warm socks for the cold days ahead. Flores is the coordinator for the outreach effort at NAS Patuxent River.

New socks (any size) can be dropped off in the boxes at buildings 448, 449, 2187, 2272 or at The Three Oaks Center outside Gate 2. All donations benefit the Three Oaks Center.
