Col. Blayne Spratlin, Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) commanding officer, presents a letter of appreciation Jan. 28 to FRCE 2014 Mentor of the Year David Lewandowski. The letter, from Vice Adm. David Dunaway, Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, cited Lewandowski's efforts while leading a team of 10 engineers and artisans in developing and hosting the Propulsion and Power portion of the 2014 Aircraft Readiness Workshop energized engineering careers for several local high school students and showcased employment opportunities at FRCE. Dunaway congratulated Lewandowski for the time he spent, the ideas he shared, and the job shadowing and development assignment opportunities he developed for the new engineers and for eight former mentees and four current mentees, which have been an example for other mentors and have been an integral of the success of new engineers at FRCE.
