MEDIA ADVISORY: Navy to showcase E-2 Hawkeye at Norfolk

WHAT: Members of the media are invited to view the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye at Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia. The event will be an opportunity to hear from Navy and industry leadership about the enhanced capability E-2D Advanced Hawkeye brings to naval aviation as it reaches Initial Operational Capability this fall, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the delivery of the Navy's original E-2 Hawkeye in 1964. 

This event is open to U.S. citizens ONLY.

WHEN:  11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014.

WHERE:  Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia.

WHO: The Navy's Program Executive Officer for Tactical Aircraft Programs will host the event with Navy/Northrop Grumman leadership available for Q&As.

  • Capt. John Lemmon, E-2/C-2 Airborne Tactical Data System Program Office
  • Capt. Donald Basden, Airborne Command and Control Logistics Wing
  • Cmdr. John W. Hewitt, Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 120 (VAW-120)
  • Bart LaGrone, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Airborne Early Warning and Battle Management Command and Control programs


Additional details: Transportation for media to NAS Norfolk, Virginia, from the Washington, D.C. area will be provided. Details will be available upon receipt of R.S.V.P.

Media are NOT permitted to bring cameras, camera phones or recording devices of any sort into the building where briefings will be held. A pool photographer will provide still photographs from the briefing. Media are welcome to photograph and record the follow-on question-and-answer session, to be held at a squadron hangar, and will be permitted to photograph the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye.
