Dawson relieves Guidry at PMA-207 helm
NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — Capt. Michelle Guidry was relieved by Douglas Dawson during a Change of Command ceremony April 17 for the Tactical Airlift, Adversary and Support Aircraft (PMA-207) at the Rear Adm. William A. Moffett building.
Guidry also retired after a 26-year Navy career during the ceremony.
During her four-year tenure, Guidry successfully managed the acquisition and delivery of 19 aircraft, including the first armed KC-130J aircraft. Her expert leadership and guidance was integral to the success of four foreign military sales cases valued at more than $700 million.
“The success of this program office is due to groups of very talented individuals who work on very challenging programs with very challenging stakeholders and they do a very fantastic job,” said Vice Adm. Paul Grosklags, principal military deputy for the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development & Acquisition). “Leadership of Captain Guidry and Doug Dawson over the last few years has been a key part of that success.”
Dawson was the previous deputy program manager for PMA-207. He has served 30 years in civil service working the within research, development, test, evaluation and acquisition of naval aviation systems, including nine years in PMA-207.
PMA-207 is responsible for research, development and acquisition of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps light, medium and executive lift transport, aerial refueling, adversary training and tactical mission aircraft.
