Bettye Moody, fourth from left, holds the 2014 Premier Media Partner plaque commemorating the Naval Air Systems Command’s recruitment advertising partnership with the National Society of Black Engineers at the 40th annual NSBE convention in Nashville, Tenn., March 27-28. Moody, head of the Solid Propulsion and Energetics Division in the NAWCWD Weapons and Energetics Department at China Lake, Calif., helped recruit new employees at the conference with help from NAVAIR employees, from left, Michael Martin, Maria Thorpe, Lonnie Snead, Marrer Mayshack and Kim Tilliman. “I not only wanted to support this wonderful organization, but I also wanted to be able to interact with the future generation of engineers,” Moody said. “Being able to speak with them and offer guidance and direction for their future is important to me. Hearing their ideas about the future of engineering and how they can bring new ideas to any organization invigorates me.”
