Media Advisory: NAWCAD commander's awards recognize excellence
The 12th annual Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Commander’s Award and Innovation Award ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 20 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md.
The ceremony in the atrium of Building 2272 will recognize military, civilians and contractors at NAS Patuxent River, Lakehurst, N.J., and Orlando, Fla. The Commander’s Awards acknowledge individual and team efforts and excellence directly related to the NAWCAD mission. The award represents outstanding technical, business or leadership achievements in a problem area or a breakthrough that enables mission accomplishment.
The Innovation Award provides motivation and incentives for teams/individuals to achieve NAWCAD corporate goals, to support and acknowledge innovative achievement in carrying out the NAWCAD mission, as well as recognizing the value of the achievements and to emphasize the value that NAWCAD places on innovation in the Technical, Acquisition Support, System Life Cycle Support and Corporate/Institutional Support categories.
The NAWCAD Patent of the Year Award will also be presented at the ceremony. All NAWCAD patents issued in fiscal 2012 were eligible for consideration for the award, which recognizes the cutting-edge technology being performed throughout NAWCAD.
NAWCAD Commander Rear Adm. Randy Mahr will present the awards to 19 teams and two individuals. He will present the Innovation Award to three teams at the event, as well as the NAWCAD Patent of the Year Award.
