Joint Strike Fighter Team Celebrates Team of the Year award
CHINA LAKE, Calif. –The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program office recently recognized the entire China Lake team with a prestigious Team of the Year award. JSF team members included Jeff Andrus, John Boberg, Mark Everett, Charles Frankenburger, Heath Ice, Jarron Lembke, Andrew Modlin, Mike O’Connell, Scott Sparrow, Jim Thompson, and Dave Wirtz.
In addition to the overall team recognition, Charles Frankenburger was singled out with a personal letter of appreciation from the F-35 program executive officer, Vice Adml. David Venlet. Frankenburger worked with industry counterparts to create and coordinate approval of verification reports and flight test letters. He was integral to the successful completion of the highly complex and dynamic program. His efforts, it was pointed out, contributed significantly to the development of the next generation strike fighter aircraft for the United States and its Allies.
Joan Johnson congratulated the team, not only for meeting milestones and achieving a well-deserved award, but for their understanding and appreciation that the work they do is essential to mission success. The end result of their hard work is increased warfighter survivability and success in combat. The JSF team celebrated its achievement with a team appreciation picnic event that was held at China Lake’s Solar Park.
