Photo release: Third F-35B test aircraft completes milestone flight

NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. - Lockheed Martin test pilot David "Doc" Nelson takes to the sky April 21 in F-35B test aircraft BF-3 for its 100th flight. The test mission completed test points for flying qualities and loads testing. BF-3 has previously tested up to the aircraft's maximum loads requirement of seven times the normal effect of gravity. The F-35B Marine Corps variant and F-35C carrier variant are undergoing test and evaluation at NAS Patuxent River for eventual delivery to the fleet. (Photo courtesy of Lockheed Martin)
