CHINA LAKE, Calif. –Capt. Thomas Mascolo, military director for Weapons and Energetics department, recently presented the NAWCWD Team award to employees of the Weapons and Energetics Anti-Radiation Missile (ARM) Technical Project Office (TPO). The Weapons and Energetics team successfully completed the test program for the High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) Block 5A upgrade and software upgrades to the AGM-88C HARM.

As a result of this achievement, NAWCWD provided critical capability enhancements to the Fleet to counter a wide array of radar threat systems, including enhanced suppression of enemy air defenses and vital force protection for strike aircraft and their crews.

Mike Keeter, head of the ARM TPO, said, "What makes this achievement special to me is that it is totally organic & multi-disciplinary in nature, starting with Intel and our Foreign Material Assessment efforts -- through technical research, design, implementation of the software, testing, fleet interaction, and the supporting functions that made it all come together. It all happened here at China Lake, from inception to an improved warfighting capability."

Scott O’Neil addressed letters of appreciation to each member of Keeter’s team for their efforts citing, “…the fruits of this effort will improve the quality of products for the warfighter. As such, you and the other members have garnered positive recognition from organizations within and outside NAWCWD and have furthered the Navy’s ability to fulfill its mission.”

Mascolo added, "It is my pleasure to come down and recognize such great work. I want to thank you for a job well done."
