Photo Release: New technology becomes Department of Navy program of record

NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. - Members of the Expeditionary Airfields (EAF) Sustainment Lighting System (SLS) team gather to celebrate the achievement of Milestone B approval Dec. 5. Now a formal program of record, SLS is a new EAF acquisition program within the Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment program office (PMA-251) jointly located at Patuxent River, Md., and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. SLS will replace the existing legacy hard-wire lighting system currently used in Marine wing support squadrons and will feature more modern technologies, efficient packaging and increased interoperability at expeditionary airfields around the world.
