CFC Ceremony Held at Lakehurst Gym
On Thursday, November 4, 2010 a recognition ceremony was held at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) Lakehurst gym to honor several individuals as Supergiver Eagle Donors for their contributions during the ongoing South Jersey Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
Hosted by Colonel Gina Grosso, Commander of JB MDL and Ms. Valerie Scott of the South Jersey CFC, plaques were presented to Mr. Roger Ball, 87th Air Base Wing Inspector Genreal’s Office, Major Gage Anderson, Test Evaluation Squadron, Chief Master Sergeant Warren Wofford, 87th Air Base Wing Command Chief and Mr. Paul McGuire, NAVAIR Lakehurst Program Management Office for their generous personal contributions to the 2010-2011 CFC drive.
The CFC is an important fund raiser that assists many local, regional and national charities each year by raising funds through the personal contributions of federal workers throughout the United States. This mid-point ceremony and rally was designed to recognize some of the outstanding donors on JB MDL and encourage participation of employees throughout the joint base.
According to Col Grosso, “during these hard economic times, we federal employees and military members are very fortunate to be in a position to have stable employment. Many of the charitable organizations that do so much to help those less fortunate than us are a part of the CFC, and much of what is contributed remains in the
local area, helping our friends and neighbors. I urge all of us to contribute what we can to support this worthy campaign and these worthy causes.”
The annual CFC, which has been in existence for over 50 years, continues this year’s drive on JB MDL through the end of November.
