PMA-202 wins AIR-1.0 November Spotlight Award
Members of the MH-60S Gunner Seat Team, from the Naval Air Systems Command's Aircrew Systems Program Office (PMA-202), pose with the AIR-1.0 November Spotlight Award Dec. 12. Gary Kurtz, NAVAIR assistant commander for acquisition, recognized the team for leveraging a NAVAIR AIRWorks rapid prototyping capability to design a proof of concept prototype for the MH-60S Gunner Seat, a top Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) community safety priority.
Challenged by Rear Adm. DeWolfe Miller (OPNAV N98) on Nov. 16 to deliver the capability faster, the team worked nonstop and by Nov. 22, the prototype gunner seat was flown using HSC-28 resources for a total of three flight hours.
