Moran speaks to China Lake Alliance
Rear Adm. Mike Moran, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division commander, explains to members of the China Lake Alliance that the command’s three priorities are people, meaningful work, and infrastructure during a meeting Oct. 22 in Ridgecrest, California. Scott O’Neil, NAWCWD executive director, tag-teamed the presentation with Moran and reported that the weapons division had one of its most successful years in recent history in terms of hiring and funding received, and is anticipating more growth next year. Stu Witt, chief executive officer of the Mojave Air and Space Port, was in the audience and said he had goose bumps watching the chemistry between Moran and O’Neil as together they told the story of how NAWCWD is changing the vision of what Navy labs can do. Witt called Moran and O’Neil “the most powerful military-civilian team” he’s seen in a while.
