Photo Release: NAVAIR employee shares wounded warrior experience

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Yegor Bondarenko (far right), a T-45 program analyst assigned to the Naval Undergraduate Flight Training Systems Program Office (PMA-273) at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., shares his story during the Wounded Warrior Experience event Nov. 7 at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Bondarenko, a Ukraine native, lost his arm and sustained other injuries in an improvised explosive device incident in 2006 while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom as an infantry squad leader. The Purple Heart recipient has been employed by Naval Air Systems Command since 2012.

The program in its entirety will be featured on The Pentagon Channel Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.
