Promotion Ceremony Held at Marine Aviation Detachment

Two members of the Marine Aviation Detachment (MAD), China Lake, Calif. were recently promoted in a ceremony attended by family and fellow Marines. Corporal Amanda M. Johantgen and Corporal Reminfelix Pineda were promoted to the rank of sergeant by MAD Commanding Officer Colonel Mark H. Bamberger. Sergeant Johantgen, a native of Ridgecrest, Calif., joined the Marine Corps in 2001. She attended boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Sergeant Pineda, also a native Californian, joined the Marine Corps in 2002. Pineda attended boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.
