PHOTO CUTLINE – Robert “Al” Boyack (left) receives a proclamation from Andy Stanley, Field Representative for California Assemblymember Kevin McCarthy, recognizing Boyack’s 60 years of employment with the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. Boyack began his career at China Lake in 1945 at the age of 17 and is highly regarded for his outstanding motivation, ingenuity and professionalism. “I have had a number of supervisors who saw value in my work and I’ve enjoyed every position I’ve held here, “ Boyack said to his family, friends and co-workers gathered for the special presentation on September 13, 2005. Boyack also received a 60-year service pin from Captain Dan Lee, Military Director, Weapons and Energetics Department, who commented that the pin was a special cast, since there are so few employees in the Department of Navy who reach this milestone. Boyack said he has no plans to retire, and offered his philosophy for such a long, successful career. “Just accept the work that comes to you and do it with a positive attitude.” Photo by John Perrige, Sverdrup.
