VX-31 CHINA LAKE RECENTLY AWARDS THREE ACTIVE-DUTY PETTY OFFICERS FOR EXCELLENCE

Three active-duty petty officers were presented on March 7, 2005 with awards for excellence in the performance of their duties. Cmdr. W.M. Chubb, commanding officer, VX-31 has presented the Gold Star in Lieu of the Fifth Award to Chief Information Systems Technician (Surface Warfare) Donald J. Leuthner, U.S. Navy, for the superior execution of his duties as Event Coordinator for VX-31 from Oct 2004 to Dec 2004.

Storekeeper First Class (Aviation Warfare) Rizaldy C. Quinto has received a Letter of Commendation from Rear Adm. Walter M. Skinner, commander, NAVAIR Weapons Division, for his exceptional performance of duties as Material Control Work Center Leading Petty Officer, VX-31, from Sept to Oct 2004. Quinto’s initiative and determination aided in the expeditious procurement of repair parts ensuring a highly successful CNO-1 Tomahawk launch.

Aviation Structural Mechanic Second Class (Aviation Warfare) Lathario J. Johnson, U.S. Navy, has received the Gold Star in Lieu of the Third Award from Cmdr. W.M. Chubb, commanding officer, VX-31, for the superior performance of his duties as Supervisor, Line Division and Airframes Branch, Aircraft Division, VX-31 from Apr 2002 to Dec 2004.
