Military and civilian personnel within NAVAIR can access their Leave and Earnings statement (LES), as well as W-2 information, on the myPay Web site (https://mypay.dfas.mil).
“I get to see it faster than when it came in the mail,” said Tom Hanrahan, Avionics Engineer within AIR-5.1.2 (Test and Evaluation Engineering, Navigation Branch) and a regular myPay user. “I am able to check for any changes in my normal pay, and make sure my leave adjustments are correct.”
Kim Gryskewicz, an employee within the Total Force Strategy and Management Department states, “the myPay web site offers employees a quicker way to view their LES and modify their elections,” she said. “Employees can initiate and then update their allotments, as well as update their address, direct deposit, savings bond, federal and state tax, and e-mail address.”
“To date, NAVAIR employees who have accessed myPay for viewing their LES have saved the Navy more than $65,000,” she said, adding, “If all NAVAIR employees participated, the potential savings could exceed $224,000. As we move further into the electronic world, it should also save several million dollars throughout the Department of Defense.”
Employees who have never accessed myPay will continue to receive hard copies of their LES and Wage and Tax statements in the mail. However, accessing myPay even once will automatically end the receipt of those statements.
To continue to receive hard copies of the documents by mail, employees will need to go back in the myPay Web site to choose the hard copy option.
