The Marine Aviation Detachment, China Lake/Point Mugu recently held a traditional ceremony during which Colonel Mark H. Bamberger passed command to Colonel Kevin L. Gross. In his parting remarks, Colonel Bamberger acknowledged that the contributions of the men and women of the detachment and the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division reflect a high level of professionalism and leadership in a demanding environment. He commended the Marines, civil servants, retirees and community members present by quoting from the memorial plaque posted by the AV-8B Harrier aircraft displayed on the grounds of the detachment: “You have proudly served.” Colonel Gross expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead the detachment and join the Weapons Division community. “There’s no mission greater than this,” Gross said. “I am very honored and very proud to serve with you.”
