Released by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake Public Affairs Office --Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division Executive Director Scott O’Neil was honored with a Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award on June 12, 2006.

Rear Adm. Mark Skinner presented the award at a surprise ceremony attended by O’Neil’s wife Ruth and his co-workers. Acknowledging 34 years of civilian service, the award is a tribute to O’Neil’s system engineering and management expertise. “O'Neil has the skills," Rear Adm. Skinner noted, “that have lead to the development and fielding of key weaponry that is both cost effective and outstanding in performance.”

O’Neil said he was honored to receive such a prestigious award, but that his accomplishments only reflected those of the people around him. “I am grateful to work with wonderful people,” he said. “And I am truly grateful to work for the Navy.”
