MEDIA ADVISORY

The Program Executive Office for Strike Weapons and Unmanned Aviation (PMA 263) will conduct an industry day on Wednesday, 17 May, at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, California, Md., 20670. The purpose of the event is to provide a status update on the BAMS UAS program, inform industry of the requirements, concept of operations, competition timeline and technology maturity requirements, and to provide a question & answer/networking opportunity in an open forum.

The BAMS UAS will provide persistent maritime and littoral ISR data collection and dissemination capability to Combatant Commanders, Expeditionary Strike Group Commanders, Carrier Strike Group Commanders and other designated U.S. and Joint Commanders. BAMS UAS will serve as an adjunct to the Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) providing 24 hours per day, 7 days a week surveillance in support of major combat operations and the Global War on Terrorism. BAMS UAS will provide five continuous orbits world-wide at a range of 2,000 nautical miles.
