NAVAIR’s Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office (PMA-290) hosted its annual P-3 Operational Advisory Group Executive Steering Committee (OAG ESC) meeting with the fleet April 24-26 to address issues related to the current and future readiness of the Navy’s patrol and reconnaissance community.
Leaders from across the Navy’s maritime patrol and reconnaissance community assembled for two days of meetings and working groups held at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center April 18-19. The results of those working groups were reported to the OAG ESC.
“This was a great opportunity for NAVAIR, OPNAV and the fleet to work side-by-side to ensure our community stays aligned with the Naval Aviation Enterprise as we work toward balancing current and future readiness, reducing the cost of doing business, and enhancing the agility of the warfighter,” said Capt. Joe Rixey, PMA-290 program manager. “Our partnership with the fleet is a vital element of our successful transition from venerable P-3 to next-generation sub hunter – the P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft.”
