VX-31 Receives Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Award
Released by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake Public Affairs Office--
Monday, Feb. 6, 2006--The Navy’s Meritorious Unit Commendation award has been presented to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron THREE ONE (VX-31) for exceptional service and superior performance from Oct. 18, 2002 to April 2, 2004.
Naval Test Wing Pacific Commander Capt. Alex Hnarakis read the citation to squadron members as he presented the official award to Cmdr. Tim Morey, VX-31’s commanding officer.
Signed by the Honorable Gordon England it states, "The personnel of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron THREE ONE raised the benchmark for superior performance across the entire test community within the Navy. Deploying personnel to conduct combat operations and accelerating delivery of vital weapon systems for wartime use, the squadron demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism in their execution of mission accomplishment during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM."
This prestigious award reflects the civilian and military teamwork in providing the Nation’s frontline warfighter with valuable developmental weapons and weapons systems plus training them in their most effective use.
