The Engineering and Scientist Development Program (ESDP) at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake held its winter graduation ceremony at the Michelson Laboratory Management Center in December 2004.

With maximum capacity attendance, 11 individuals received program-completion awards presented by Scott O’Neil, NAWCWD executive director (acting) and Dave Janiec, Head Weapons & Energetics. Graduation from the ESDP is a significant accomplishment and represents a culmination of many hours of training as well as widespread work experience attained over a broad range of assignments.

Extensive training is achieved in the technical aspects of weapon systems as well as skills development in the areas of communication theory, external business, marketing strategies, negotiation techniques, procurement, working capital fund, team networking, team leadership, high performance organization, and technical writing. Along with the educational and on-the-job training, graduation is an important indicator of career development and distinction.

Considered one of WD’s most critical and important employee development programs, the ESDP is deemed vital for the expectations of NAVAIR and its commitment to warfighter superiority.
