COMMUNITY BREAKFAST AND CEREMONY TO BE HELD ON PEARL HARBOR DAY
A community observance of the 63rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 7:30 a.m. at the BPO Elks Lodge 1913, 201 E. Church Street, Ridgecrest, Calif.
Pearl Harbor survivors are the guests of honor and will be joined by military personnel and community members for breakfast and a commemorative ceremony.
Speakers for the event will be HM3 Michael Burnette, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Three One (VX-31), and PRC Thomas Henderson of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. Burnette is a Junior Bluejacket of the Year and Henderson is Sailor of the Year for 2004.
The U.S. Navy Honor Guard, a solemn two-bell ceremony presented by the Fleet Reserve Association, and patriotic songs performed by RP2 Asa D. Saunders, U.S. Navy, and the Farris Family Singers will round out the program.
The Pearl Harbor Day breakfast is open to the public and reservations are required. Contact the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce at (760) 375-8331 to reserve a ticket. Cost is $6.00 per person.
