50th Annual JEWC Call-for-Papers; Golden Anniversary Conference

The U.S. Air Force will host the 50th Annual Joint Electronic Warfare Conference (JEWC) at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, from May 3-5, 2005.

Attendance is restricted to U.S. government and active duty military personnel.

The conference theme, “Electronic Warfare at Its Best,” will mirror the significant advances and accomplishments in Electronic Warfare in the Battlespace environment over the last fifty years.

This conference provides a unique forum for government and armed services, active duty and civilian personnel, from government agencies and each of the military branches to exchange electronic warfare (EW) knowledge, expertise, and technical information in a secure environment.

The JEWC Management Council is soliciting papers of interest from government agencies and the joint services that emphasize policies, concepts, developments, testing, training, operations, or tactics. Papers on EW-related concepts of information warfare, interoperability, information assurance or network centric warfare will also be accepted.

Researchers, engineers, and prospective authors are required to complete an unclassified abstract submittal form and a presenter’s biographical sketch by accessing the JEWC website at https://jewc.mugu.navy.mil. This site is restricted to government and military addresses only. An appropriate distribution statement will be required on all abstracts and subsequent papers.

The deadline for abstracts is January 8, 2005. Abstracts are limited to one page or less and the information must be unclassified, clear, concise, and highlight the manner in which the presentation content could benefit the conference theme and attendees. Acceptance of submissions will be confirmed via electronic mail using the address provided on the submittal form. Abstracts will also be accepted through regular mail if addressed to: AFFTC/XPD, Building 1400, 307 E. Popson, Edwards AFB, CA or Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, 1 Administration Circle, Mail Stop 2011 (Attn: Robert Long), China Lake, CA 93555-6110.

The abstract subject matter will be reviewed by the JEWC Management Council from January 23-29, 2005. This review period will be followed by acceptance notifications via electronic mail the week of February 6, 2005. Selection of papers will be predicated on the abstract content, the applicability to Electronic Warfare, and the relevance to the conference theme. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the respondent that, if selected, the designated presenter(s) or acceptable surrogate(s) will present the paper at the conference and release the document for publication in the conference proceedings.
