Dr. Robert D. Chapman was honored recently with the Dr. William B. McLean Award, named for a former distinguished technical director at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake. The award, which consists of a framed certificate and medallion, recognizes civilian or military personnel for inventions which represent exceptional creativity and significance to the mission of the Weapons Division. Dr. Chapman’s inventions have played a leading role in the discovery and development of a novel class of energetic materials.
