RECORD LONGEVITY Rene Demers, NAVAIR Depot North Island’s Silver Eagle holder as the person with the most longevity at the Depot, accepts an award from Capt. James Woolway, Depot commanding officer, for 55 years of federal government service. Demers started working for what was then the Overhaul and Repair Department in August 1952. He first worked on the F4U Corsair, followed by the P5M flying boats, F3H Demon, F4D Skyray, F3D Skyknight, F2H Banshee, the F8U Crusader, F4 Phantom, the C-1 and the C-2A, the E-2C Hawkeye, and many other types of aircraft.
