Dale Carnegie Training, one of the leading companies in corporate management, workplace issues and leadership trends has awarded its prestigious Leadership Award to Naval Air Engineering Station (NAES) Lakehurst and its Commanding Officer, Captain Mark Bathrick.

This international award, established in 1985, is presented to organizations that place special emphasis on the development of their human resources, innovation and organizational creativity for the purposes of achieving their mission objectives. Those organizations that recognize and use human resource management as parallel to their technology are deemed major contributors to their country’s economy and society. Past award winners include Daimler-Chrysler and its president Lee Iacocca and SAS Scandinavian Airlines and its CEO Jan Carlson.

Dale Carnegie Training President and CEO, Mr. Peter Handal presented the award and stated about Navy Lakehurst, “ we are delighted to recognize the base for its ongoing commitment to the development of a culture that fosters trust-based empowerment at all levels of the organization. In Lakehurst Naval Base we recognize those qualities that separate truly great companies: commitment to providing excellent service and quality products to their customers, dedication to their employees’ growth and understanding of the value of employees, and a sense of obligation that compels them to a higher level of community involvement.”

According to Captain Bathrick, “Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst is honored to have been chosen for such a prestigious international award. In the military, leadership is everything. With great leadership, military organizations can accomplish great things, even with limited resources and during times of great change. Without leadership, these same organizations often struggle to accomplish the most basic tasks, regardless of the resources available. At Lakehurst, we take great pride in our enduring commitment to the culture of covenantal leadership that has remained a hallmark of the installation for decades. A fundamental tenet of this covenantal leadership is the continuing investment in the growth and development of our employees. An organization that invests in its people, invests in its future success. To have been selected for this honor that honors excellence in leadership and dedication to employees’ growth from among so many other international organizations is both gratifying and humbling.”
