GOVERNOR AND U.S. REP VISIT NAVAL AIR (NAVAIR) DEPOT, JACKSONVILLE

Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL) and Congressman Ander Crenshaw (R-4th-FL) paid a visit to NAVAIR Depot, Jacksonville on Feb 2. They viewed the newest workload in the Depot, the F/A-18 Center Barrel Replacement, as well as the ongoing manufacturing efforts by the Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Machine Shop and the re-wing initiative on the P-3 Orion aircraft line.

Bush and Crenshaw, escorted by Depot Commanding Officer Capt. David J. Beck, walked through numerous shops, getting an idea as to the size of the Depot, the number of employees and the impact the Depot has on the community. Through discussions with shop representatives, they had an opportunity to learn more about the Depot’s role in Fleet readiness and supporting the Warfighter from the Navy’s perspective.

The visit was a morale builder for employees, who were able to meet and talk with the Governor and Congressman. Employees had the opportunity to express concerns through first hand conversation.
