NAVAIR PRAISED FOR WARFIGHTER SUPPORT
NAVAIR Weapons Division

Fleet aviators and NAVAIR employees, manning the exhibit hall at the recent 2003 Tailhook Convention, had the opportunity to discuss aircraft, weapons, mission planning, test and evaluation and depot maintenance — all functions that NAVAIR performs to support the warfighter.
Out of the 3,400 participants, Carrier Airwing (CAG) commanders praised NAVAIR during the Iraq Freedom feedback session for supplying equipment and providing support.
Citing examples such as providing in-country teams with integration of Joint Direct Attack Missile (JDAM) on F-14s, the CAGs personally thanked NAVAIR and Commander Rear Adm. Bert Johnston, NAVAIR vice commander.
Videos of an F-18 carrier landing in a sandstorm with less than 200-foot visibility and precision targeting of the JDAM, Joint Stand-Off Weapon and Tomahawk missiles provided a first-hand look at the effectiveness of programs that the people of NAVAIR support on a daily basis.
