Ribbon cutting ceremonies are held Aug. 20 onboard the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake for the three recently completed building rehab projects in support of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure process. In the top photo, Barbara Austin, head of the Escape and Parachute Systems Branch, cuts the ribbon on the new and improved facility at Building 20210, the old 11,600 square foot paraloft building. Members of the Warfighter Systems and Support Division, who will use the new spaces to design, fabricate, inspect, pack and vacuum seal parachute systems and associated hardware, join in the celebration. In the middle photo, Dru Chacon is supported by members of the Logistics Industrial and Operations Group for the ribbon cutting at their new space in the engineering building, located in the Michelson Lab complex. The Logistics area was renovated with new carpeting and modular furniture systems for added work spaces. In the bottom photo, Jan Lamb, NAWCWD Comptroller, officially opens the updated northeast wing of the Headquarters Building, which has space for 23 support personnel in the Comptroller Division. Also on hand for the celebration were Tom McCollum and Ron Austill from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command China Lake Public Works Department, and representatives of J & P Construction, the contractor responsible for the updated facilities.
