WD scientists take chemistry into the classroom at Murray
Archived Body
Roxanne Quintana, a NAWCWD research chemist, left, spends a day at the end of the school year at Murray Middle School teaching Lynn Grogan’s 8th grade science class about chemistry and physics. Quintana and fellow chemist Lee Cambrea captured the students’ attention with several CSI-like hands-on experiments based on the “Forensic Science Lab” theme. The lab work involved analyzing samples of dirt to figure out who was at a “crime scene,” testing fluids to determine which one had protein present, and identifying fingerprints.
