You are invited to attend the presentation of the Chief of Naval Operations Search and Rescue (SAR) Crew of the Year Award to members of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Thirty One (VX-31) on Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. at the Paradise Café onboard Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.

The remaining crewmen at China Lake, Lt. Cmdr. Ken Gilbert, AWSC John Jennings and AWS2 Robert Romero, will receive the award. The award is in recognition of a daring, high-altitude two-man rescue from Mount Gilbert, west of Bishop.

One or both of the two men rescued may be in attendance for the award presentation.

Capt. Mark Storch, acting NAWCWD commander, will also present the CNO's Safety "S" Award to the squadron.
