Ground is broken Oct. 28 for new ordnance storage facilities in the main magazine area aboard Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. This $18.9 million construction project, in accordance with the Base Realignment and Closure 2005 decision, will provide for nine magazines, one building for inert storage, one building for packing and crating, and expansion of roads and utilities to support the new facilities. Two of the nine magazines under this contract will be located in the China Lake Propulsion Laboratory area.
