Three members of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Webster Outlying Field (WOLF) workforce graduated from the Journey Leadership Development Program (JLDP) in a ceremony March 20.
Megan Elliott, Catherine Thistle, and Ryan Evans successfully completed the one-year, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) program designed to develop skills for all hands to assist in leading teams and projects. JLDP is open to both civilian and active-duty personnel at NAVAIR.
Elliott is a mechanical engineer supporting NAWCAD WOLF’s Ship and Air Integrated Warfare (SAIW) division in the communications systems engineering branch. She supports the design, integration, testing, and delivery of radio communications equipment for new construction ships.
“I participated in JLDP to gain more leadership skills necessary to be an effective leader,” said Elliott. “I will use the skills I developed from JLDP in my current role and in any future roles.”
Thistle is the deputy team lead for the ePerformance Solutions Team in the mission systems engineering branch of NAWCAD WOLF’s Airborne Systems Integration division. She is the government project lead for training and performance support projects and serves as an alternate contracting officer's representative.
”JLDP gave us a robust set of tools and resources that I will continue to use throughout my career,” said Thistle. “I was able to make new connections with leaders and mentors in the organization who I can turn to for guidance and support.”
Evans is the product lead for two Unmanned Carrier Aviation products, a digital radio and common data link system. He supports NAWCAD WOLF’s SAIW division’s unmanned systems engineering and integration branch.
“I decided to participate in JLDP to enhance my ability to lead teams at WOLF in the rapid development of critical capabilities for the warfighter,” said Evans. “Through JLDP I have gained the skills to influence teams, build trust, and foster accountability. It reinforced my commitment to striving for excellence in the work that I do at WOLF.”
NAWCAD WOLF develops and delivers airborne, shipboard, and shore-based rapid, organic Lead Systems Integrator (oLSI) capability solutions for DoD, intelligence, and Homeland Security missions anywhere around the world.
