This accomplishment represents significant turning point in the depot’s support of the heavy-lift community, showcasing the FRCE’s dedication to operational excellence and relentless pursuit of faster, more efficient solutions for the platform.

FRCE reduces turnaround time for H-53 induction

Fleet Readiness Center East recently reached a major milestone in support of warfighter readiness, decreasing the turnaround time of a CH-53E Super Stallion by 14% for a faster return to the fleet. This accomplishment represents significant turning point in the depot’s support of the heavy-lift community, showcasing the FRCE’s dedication to operational excellence and relentless pursuit of faster, more efficient solutions for the platform. 

During a visit to the facility April 20, H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Manager Col. Kate Fleeger presented a letter of appreciation to FRCE Commanding Officer Capt. Randy Berti in recognition of the H-53 production line’s dedication to supporting the mission. Fleeger said quicker turnarounds minimize aircraft downtime and maximize combat power.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your outstanding efforts and remarkable achievements for the H-53E program,” she said. “The recent data points to a clear and compelling story of a program that is not only turning a corner but is well on its way to setting a new standard of excellence. Your dedication and hard work are making a tangible difference, and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to excellence and for your significant contributions to the readiness of our H-53 fleet and nation.”

FRCE is proud to provide the nation’s military aviators with maintenance, repair and overhaul support for the CH-53E Super Stallion, MH-53E Sea Dragon, and CH-53K King Stallion. The facility also overhauls, assembles and tests engines for the heavy-lift platform, such as the T64 and T408 engines.
