DEA citizen’s academy alumni tour Point Mugu
Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division recently hosted about 15 members of the Drug Enforcement Administration Citizens’ Academy Alumni Association of Los Angeles during a tour at Point Mugu on Jan. 18.
The group, which visited China Lake in August 2018, met with Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 30, learning about its mission and the capabilities of the P-3 Orion, before heading over to learn more about the Point Mugu Sea Range. They closed out the day with the Threat/Targets Department’s Target Systems Division, allowing them insight into how the various departments function together to ensure safe, effective test and evaluation operations.
The nonprofit organization is comprised of graduates from the DEA Citizens’ Academy classes in Los Angeles. Members are not active or retired law enforcement, but come from various backgrounds such as education, small business, local and federal government with an interest in the mission and heritage of the DEA and other law enforcement teams.
