Bowman, an aircraft worker on the V-22 line at Fleet Readiness Center East, prepares to connect a crane to the V-22 sponson fuel bladder sling, which is secured to a V-22 Osprey’s sponson fuel bladder that arrived at FRCE in a crate. FRCE worked with private industry to develop the new sling, also called a “dog bone,” which helps artisans lift and move the fuel bladders more safely and efficiently. The sling in use at FRCE is the first in the Department of Defense.
