Tommy Stokes, a structures engineer on the H-60 Fleet Support Team at Naval Air Systems Command’s In-Service Support Center at Fleet Readiness Center East, explains how this 3D-printed omnidirectional antenna mount secures to the MH-60S Seahawk multi-mission helicopter. The mount, developed by a team of H-60 FST engineers at FRCE, is part of a communications upgrade package that will be installed on more than 200 Navy aircraft. In support of the Full Motion Video system slated for installation on all Navy MH-60S Block 3 helicopters, the team developed three antenna mounts – two of them 3D-printed – and rack to secure the FMV system, developed by a defense contractor, to the aircraft.
