Machinist Dustan Brown observes as one of FRCE’s five-axis computer numerical control milling machines cuts a CH-53K King Stallion heat exchanger bracket from a solid block of metal, to ensure the process is progressing according to the part’s technical data. A team at FRCE recently manufactured the part in just over 12 hours, reducing turnaround time from both the initial estimate of eight to 10 weeks and the expedited timeline of about 30 days. The quick turn allowed the part to reach the squadron customer in time for the Marines to fulfill their operational requirements.
