The U.S. Navy in June 2023 accepted the first E-6B Mercury upgraded entirely by Northrop Grumman Corp. in Lake Charles, delivering enhanced airborne strategic communication capabilities to the warfighter. Northrop Grumman delivered that aircraft in record time – 392 days – under its Integrated Modification and Maintenance Contract (IMMC) with the Navy.
