An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) heads in for a landing during the 2023 Ultimate Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition held April 22, in Newport. Students representing eastern North Carolina high schools designed unmanned aerial vehicles for the competition, which evaluated the speed and maneuverability of their creations. Engineers from Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) coached and assisted each team throughout the process. FRCE aims to inspire the next generation of engineering and aviation professionals through outreach efforts such as this.
