Mr. John Meyers currently serves as the Executive Director for the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Florida.  He is responsible for delivering over $1.5 billion yearly in modeling, simulation, training and human performance products and oversees personnel in 47 fleet concentration areas.

Mr. Meyers was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in July 2013 and has over 30 years of civilian service for the Navy in the areas of Human Systems Integration, Human Protection, Human Performance, and Training Systems.

Mr. Meyers began his career as a co-op student and project engineer in 1987 with the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster, Pa.  While in the honors program at the Pennsylvania State University, he obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in engineering science and mechanics in 1990 and a master’s of science in mechanical engineering in 1992.

In 1996, Mr. Meyers was assigned to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, Md. as the tri-service team lead for the Aircrew Integrated Recover Survival Armor Vest and Equipment (AIRSAVE) program where he delivered more than 20,000 Army, Navy, and Marine Corps systems and received a patent for his work.

Mr. Meyers was selected into the Senior Executive Management Development Program in 2001 and received the Safety and Flight Equipment Dan McCauley Award in 2002 for recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of Aviation Safety and Survival Systems. 

In 2003, he led the MA-16 Inertia Reel team which integrated a safety related restraint system upgrade into numerous aircraft where his team was awarded the Area Commander’s Award for their efforts.  As Team Lead for the Crashworthy and Escape Systems Test Facilities Team he was responsible for the operations of eight highly specialized labs that tested ejection seats, crashworthy seating, human systems integration and injury mitigation technologies.

In 2008, Mr. Meyers was assigned as the Chief Engineer to the Naval Aviation Training Systems Program Management Office (PMA-205).  He was responsible for 400 engineers and $1 billion of Naval Aviation training systems products where he received the PMA-205 Warfighter Focus Award for his efforts.

Mr. Meyers became the Deputy Director for the Naval Air Systems Command Human Systems Department in 2012 where he was responsible for staffing, business planning and financial oversight of crew systems technologies for the Department.
