Mobile Electric Power Plant (MEPP) Operations Procedures (OPs) and Troubleshooting (T/S)
The MRTS 3D® MEPP application is a photo-realistic software simulation of the diesel-powered electric cart A/M32A-108 for servicing, starting, and maintaining aircraft. This application allows for startup and shutdown of the MEPP system as well as fault localization and troubleshooting. Total development time for the trainer was less than 12 months from conception to delivery.
Operators train on the MEPP application by following equipment handling procedures as well as pre and post operational checklists to ensure safe and proper usage of the MEPP system. This application has the ability to show training videos on how to do basic maintenance and troubleshooting steps, such as diagnosing faulty wires or checking fuel levels. There are approximately 30 gripes, which are casualties in this simulation, that allow the operator to trace fault problems through the interactive electronic schematic. The schematic can be submitted to the instructor for instantaneous feedback and remediation.
