DDG-1000 MT-30 Gas Turbine Engine (GTE) Maintenance Trainer (MT-30)
The MT-30 is a Main Turbine Generator (MTG) onboard the DDG-1000, Zumwalt-class, ships used by the U.S. Navy. The MT-30 provides mechanical energy to drive a 4160 Volt Alternating Current (VAC) 60 Hertz (Hz), 3-phase generator at 35.43 Megawatts (MW).
The MT-30 Training System (TS) simulates the Main Machinery Room (MMR) 2. Within this environment, there are high-fidelity simulations of the MT-30, Full Authority Digital Controller (FADC), and the Electrical Start System (ESS) Cooling Motor. Operators are able to conduct remove-and-replace maintenance procedures on the MT-30, ESS, FADC, and other support systems in accordance with the MT-30 Interactive Electronic Training Manual (IETM). Operators are able to pull up the IETM and other maintenance documents for these systems to ensure procedural compliance.
