Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division - Orlando
Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Operations (Ops) and Maintenance (Maint.)
The MRTS 3D® AAG trainer simulates workstations and hardware components necessary for AAG operations, faults, and maintenance procedures training. AAG workstations that correspond to target roles are simulated for operator input to the extent necessary to perform the selected procedure.
Operator training includes NATOPS procedures related to the arrestment of aircraft using the AAG system. Up to seven different operator roles can be played in a team training environment to successfully arrest up to seven different aircraft types in either day time or night time operations. Maintenance training includes faults and procedures for the various equipment on the AAG system. This includes the Energy Absorber System, Cable Shock Absorber System, and Hydraulic Power Unit Assembly. Operator training also includes the operation of the Compact Swaging Assembly.
