Defense Architecture Systems, Inc.
DAS is a small business dedicated to the rapid development and manufacturing of products that work in the field in mission-critical situations. DAS is ready to tackle the challenges of complex systems and has adaptable manufacturing capable of scaling from small (<100) to mid-scale (>1000) production. The team brings a unique mix of staff covering a broad range of scientific and engineering specialties partnered with former operators, quality managers, and program managers that are familiar with the unique nature of delivering products to the intelligence, space, and defense markets. Our core capabilities include RDT&E, prototype development, technology integration, independent assessment and testing, and transition to full-scale production. Starting with System Engineers, DAS works with a customer to define operational performance requirements and flow down those requirements into system specifications that lead the design and manufacturing of a technology. Our engineers incorporate human factors according to operator inputs, industry standards, and client situational needs. By having in-house staff capable of designing electronics from those requirements to board layout, mathematical analysis of the circuit, fabrication, assembly, and testing, DAS maintains complete accountability. Similarly, our mechanical staff has experience designing rugged enclosures to meet MIL-STDs or space flight capability starting with modeling, physics-based SolidWorks Flow, and rapid prototyping. DAS does not just build to a Technical Data Package (TDP), we have in-house simulation and testing capabilities (electrical, mechanical, explosives, chemical, radiological, EMI, and RF) to test and verify performance at each step in the development. It is extremely important to the reliability and performance of a manufactured product to verify components in a variety of environments. DAS can complete design of experiments (DoE) and perform critical tests for thermal, shock and vibration, and electromagnetic interference to comply with international and MIL-STDs. Quality processes are compliant with ISO 9001, including vendor approval, testing, and inventory and asset management systems. DAS provides analysis and development of current and emerging technology, including cost, reliability, parts obsolescence, environmental, survivability, and operational performance. DAS can create designs and manufacture parts using additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and molding, and can also complete electronics design, board layout, fabrication, and assembly. DAS has successfully manufactured a variety of handheld and field technology systems and has ruggedized laboratory-based systems into military, fieldable systems that are modernized and improved for our clients' applications. Modeling, prototyping and user testing in-house saves time and puts working prototypes in the customer's hands earlier in the project schedule. DAS is accustomed to working in an IPT with sponsors, operators, scientists, and engineers to ensure our products deliver actionable information for operators. DAS has active contract vehicles with the GSA Advantage system and an JE-RDAP IDIQ.
