Mrs. Cynthia M. Thompson
Ms. Thompson has served the United States Navy both as a contractor service support (CSS) employee and as a civil servant for a combined 37 years.
Ms. Thompson began her federal career in September 1987 as a File Clerk with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Ms. Thompson worked in private industry supporting the U.S. Navy for 24 years serving in several roles from a Materials Handling Laborer to a Program Control Analyst.
Ms. Thompson resumed her federal career as a Navy contracting intern in 2013 supporting the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). She worked as a Contracts Specialist supporting PEO (U&W) - PMA-242 and PEO (A) - PMA-290 on multiple contract actions throughout her tenure.
She joined the NAVAIR Office of Small Business Programs in 2018 as the Assistant Small Business Deputy Director at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River. She assumed the role as the Site Director, NAWCAD PAX Office of Small Business Programs in April 2024.
Ms. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Maryland University College where she was conferred a Master of Science degree in Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. She also holds a Small Business Credential, a DAWIA Level 3 certification in Contracting, and a Level 1 certification in Program Management.
