EFX Applied Technology is developing our Interactive Personnel Alert Systems ® (IPAS ®) to mitigate or prevent injuries caused by human contact with hazardous equipment, work areas or environments.
IPAS products are based on innovative, interactive alert methods developed under multiple US Patents to apply as many human senses as possible to alert people of imminent danger.
Sight, Sound & Tactile senses are engaged to instantly alert equipment operators and personnel in harm's way of imminent danger.
IPAS combines the proven reliability of widely used, commercial laser, LED, and optical projection systems with proprietary software and data management systems. IPAS will deliver robust solutions to save lives and maintain military mission efficiency and effectiveness by reducing the risk of mission-crippling accidents between personnel and equipment.
Examples include (but are not limited to) spinning tail rotors or propellers, turbine engine intake and blast areas, open elevator shafts, moving tugs or heavy equipment, construction equipment, rotating weapon systems and other threats to safety. Air side operations, ship board operations, ship yard operations, training and combat environments are some areas of interest.
IPAS will use night vision compatible illumination to enhance mission safety in the field, while minimizing threats to deployed units and maximizing risk mitigation and operational readiness.
Vehicle mounted IPAS systems will connect to IoT based wearable IPAS components to directly alert personnel of imminent danger, while simultaneously alerting supervisory, safety or other personnel as desired or required.
Stationary mounted IPAS can track all personnel and equipment equipped with IPAS devices in a defined operating area.
IPAS incorporates industry-proven commercial components into their proprietary system designs and offers a high technical readiness level (TRL).
